The scent of the incense crafters drifts across the Perfume River in the morning calm. For the craftspeople, artisans, and street vendors of Huế, life continues much as it used to centuries before - handmaking their delicate goods as the sun rises for customers eager to experience the richness of the old capital. Bold flavors, fierce chilis, and stunning detail await discovery in the many ancient alleyways that surround the citadel, but it is becoming harder to find every year. To keep the exquisite traditions alive and bring Huế flavors to the world stage, we are excited to serve a slice of this magic in New York City this spring.

Imperial Cuisine for the People

For centuries, the royal court projected a vision of opulence and abundance, featuring towers of plates big and small laden with delicacies. But the true artists were the common people - talented craftspeople, innovative minds, and skilled hands to meet the ever-evolving demands of the Citadel. After studying with the masters and contemporary artisans of Huế on their recent journey back to Vietnam, Taylor & Thu are excited to bring back a host of delights for your dining pleasure. Candied fruits and snacks from local markets, rare ingredients like coastal green peppercorns, fermented shrimp, and some serious chili paste - come enjoy an evening of plenty with us this June in the heart of Manhattan's Financial District.
